From what you can see, all the lights in the opera house are turned on. Only when you enter and see the open doors that lead into the main theater, you can see that room's lights are currently turned off. It's very dark in there.

Like before, Rembrandt escorts everybody to the stage. In the dark you still can see the many blue-eyed things you may be getting used to. They're still very scared of Rembrandt, staying as far away from the assistant as possible. The stage is illuminated by the spotlights, the only light in this theater.

The Lady and Rembrandt are at their balcony. She stands up, addressing the group:

"If you don't make this trial go like I want it, every single person in this room is getting vivisected!"

It has been a couple hours and she's still furious. It doesn't seem like her mood is going to improve anytime soon...if ever. Behind her, Rembrandt doesn't seem very impressed with her gratuitous threat. At least she probably won't get to make good on that threat, hm?

Let the trial for the death of Dist the Rose begin.

I mentioned the echolocation to Iago only. Teru Mikami found out I have Sonui last night, but I didn't discuss the particulars of it.

Which means that once again, Ango is looking more likely than anyone else here. Unless you want to try to argue that Teru Mikami would cover for Cumore or that I killed Dist.

Ango wouldn't risk pointing anything at me. I already shared that a lot of people have seen my powers publicly so it really could be anyone at this point.

No one else knew it could be used to see in the dark. That's the point - you never mentioned it before now. No one else could have known about that. I find it highly unlikely that you experimented with your power and didn't learn about that.

I didn't really think about it until Cumore brought it up in trial. For a while, I was trying to keep my powers quiet until we needed to bring it up. Partially because it's weird to have these powers and partially to surprise anyone who came up on me wanting to help me end my own life.

[ His profile is right there for all to see. It's a big target on his back. ]

I promised Ango I would try to not put a target on my back, which included being quiet about my powers.

This is why I'm saying you're making a lot of assumptions, Dazai Osamu. No one knew about that portion of things except you and me until just now, and yet you're claiming someone tried to frame you. Based on...what? Something they didn't know existed?

But the two of you are close, and he's answered some questions about your power. So you can say you didn't share that much information with him or that you didn't know, but that involves us simply believing your word, and I'm not going to do that.

If it was a frame job for Sonui, there's only one possible person it could be.

Then I'm wrong about it being a frame job. He wouldn't ever risk me, and for a long time we thought there was only one user.

At the risk of sounding harsh, you're not technically his version of you. If he goes back home to his world, there's a good chance he'd just be going back to you, unless you know that that version was one of the Lady's failed experiments.

I'm the version who is still his friend, which isn't something he has in the future.

We don't even know if echolocation was used for certain. It's only one of many possibilities.

And even IF it is being used as a tactic to frame someone else, I didn't know anyone else left alive had Sonui and I wouldn't try to frame Dazai-kun.

We only have your word to go on for that, so it's certainly not very compelling.

Then please, tell me how I managed to talk to Rembrandt, get all the way across the city, murder Dist, rearrange the crime scene to look like someone killed in the dark, go clean off in the gym, and then got back to the clergy housing in time to get covered in flour and lectured for it all in less than an hour.

[He pauses there.]

Less than a half-hour, even, because I was with the others from midnight-onwards.

It's true, I don't have a good argument for that. It does sound implausible.

But your power is Gravitas, and that's one I don't know very much about. When you demonstrated it during the second trial, you made Dazai lighter. Perhaps by doing that you could move faster.

You could have just asked! There's several Gravitas-users left alive, it would have been easy to tell you what you needed to know!

I'm fairly certain you and Shiro are the only two left alive and I doubt either of you would give me that information for free.

I also don't hear an argument.

Did anyone else check the time you got back to the room, or was it only Rean?

...Since we're making this an argument of time now, would the lot of you mind if we borrowed the watch and checked it against one of our own?

[seeing as, you know, watches can be reset and nobody knows what goddamn time it is right now.]

I'd like to second that. [ hey it's kind of a pun-- ] Can we compare that watch to Mikami's and make sure that they show the same time -- that no one's watch was turned ahead or backward?

I don't really think this would be an issue if you were all awake after that point until the investigation anyway, for the record, since hopefully everyone could estimate what half an hour felt like, but I'd just like to make sure we're not missing something fundamental about the timeline.
