Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.

But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

[ Mikami is here, with a cup of coffee from the opera house, because god, he needs a lot of that today. Yesterday was... he's not sure what it was. Was it fun? Probably not. Was it a welcome distraction? Yes. Does he feel absolutely miserable today because he isn't accustomed to drinking? Also yes. Those are the trappings of running from your problems, he is learning now, for the first time, at age 27. ]

We really need to sit back and figure out an actual concrete plan for ourselves as a group - beyond just 'surviving'. Even though, evidently, even that has been too much for us. If anyone even considers taking this motive...

It's a stupid threat. One should live in such a way that secrets of this caliber don't amass in the first place.

But I know nobody here is concerned with how one should live to start with.

Still. If we take the Lady down, her threat is neutralized as well. Everyone should put their efforts there.

...I really think it's more complicated than that, and there are certainly people who do care, even in this situation. With that said, I still don't believe it's something anyone should take action on, even if I could understand why.

Who's to say she wouldn't just go through with it anyway? She's mentioned how fond she is of backstabbing people, after all.

The main obstacle to putting a stop to her would be who she has with her, which is obvious, but we need to find a way to get him to stop supporting him or stop him before he can stop us.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's similar to how it goes in trial. That you sell a part of your soul to her if you actually take her murder deal.

Neither of these seem particularly likely, but when it comes to stopping him from supporting her, I must admit I don't even have any idea of how to do it.

Don't be ridiculous, everyone has secrets. Most people just happen to have secrets they wouldn't murder over. In fact, I bet everyone's secrets here are along those lines: they would be uncomfortable if revealed, but not worth killing someone over.

That's why I said 'secrets of this caliber'. Having benign secrets just falls under the concept of having privacy.

We can only hope that this is the case for all secrets, but I would not count on it.

I'm concerned about what happens then as well. Once she's finished with this, what will happen to us? I'd rather not find out what the planned endgame is to start with.

I think we'll have no choice but to do so. As for your question, my guess is that she'll either dispose of those of us who are no longer useful and perform more experiments on those who are.

Again, it's just a guess. Take it with a grain of salt.

I stand by what I said at the trial. We all stop yelling about how worthless or useless everyone may or may not be. If you want to survive you're going to either make yourself useful or you're going to stop whining.

It would be for the best if we could be cohesively useful, but at this point I think that's a bit much to ask.

Maybe we could also stop falling for obvious setups and trying to execute those among us who are indisputably useful. Just a thought.

"Indisputably useful" people would be be able to stop tantruming over how terrible their lives are long enough to be productive, but you wouldn't know anything about that either way.

At this point we all need to accept that with very few exceptions, none of us like one another or want to be around one another, but that any further loss to our numbers just puts us at a stronger disadvantage.

Any arguments need to be geared only towards productivity, not personal opinion.

[I mean in fairness to Mikami's hypocrisy, Cumore is mostly just arguing this under the implication that he'll keep his thoughts on how worthless almost everyone here is in his head. He'll bitch after we're not all, you know, dying and shit.]

I'm still not optimistic about our chances of no one killing this week. But if we could minimize the losses at least, that much would be appreciated.
