WEEK 5

Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.

But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

As much as I loathe the idea right now, it would be good to continue our lessons.

Anyway, Rean will wait patiently for Iago to get himself righted, and once he's ready, he'll start walking, jacket over his shoulder. ]

Do you have any dish you like in particular, by the way?

Not particularly. I've had more options since coming to work for King Garon, but I wouldn't say I prefer any of them over the others.

[He's one of those people who eats because he needs to and otherwise doesn't really care much.]

Feel free to fix anything you'd like, I'm not particularly picky and I'm not opposed to trying anything new.

[Obviously he'll want to watch Rean make it, both in order to learn how to repeat it and because Iago's still very wary about food he hasn't seen prepared. Not that he thinks Rean would poison him, but you know. Paranoia.]

[ A rare sight in a place like this, but in a way, that suited Rean just fine. He could make whatever he wanted. ]

Alright. Then please bear with me, it won't take all that long.

[ Well, he couldn't make all his favorite meals, but he'll take what he could get.

When they walk in, Rean considered making Pizza because he was absolutely amazing at it, but also.

Maybe not. So he put away the dough and got started on making some hamburgers instead. He's definitely willing to have the other watch what he's making as usual. ]

I think this is the first time I made this here, though I had made something similar last meeting, even if that recipe wasn't originally mine.

[iago still doesn't know what pizza is. no one ever told him. this is my favorite joke in this game.]

You always do go out of your way to prepare food for everyone. I hope you don't take it as an insult that I don't eat at the meetings.

[By now Rean presumably gets why. He's not exactly sorry, but it's nothing against Rean or his cooking.]

I don't. I've been thinking of not really having something next time since it's going to be so late in the week, anyway...

[ We've reached the point where Rean was even paranoid of someone tampering with his food at meetings and him not noticing. This expedience has not been kind. ]

[He nods at that.]

It may be best not to prepare something this week. If the Lady is right and we really are approaching the end, then we don't need to give anyone any more opportunities to kill.

[It's an unpleasant topic, sure, but Rean's proven he can handle facing this sort of thing head-on and be fine, so Iago sees no reason to dance around it any.]

Yeah. I'm sure everyone will undetstand, anyway.

I'm not anticipating the Lady to make it easy to stop murder with us nearing the end, but it's better than no precautions.

[ And there, done! Placing food on plate and handing it right over to the other. ]

Precisely.

As always, we need to focus on making it through this week with as many people as possible.
