WEEK 5
Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.
But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

I appreciate the kind words. I'm exhausted and sore, but I imagine that's to be expected given that I have almost no experience with any of this.

It is, yes. I never had much of a need for it after I started learning to use magic. I never found myself in a position where magic couldn't save me.
[So you know. Ripping his magic power away and forcing him to fend for himself without everything he's spent the last two decades+ working on is fine. Totally fine.]

Haha...that's fair. I don't have access to my ARCUS and I doubt I'd be able to use my orbal arts if I did, but I know I have something to fall back on.
That said, if you want to continue these lessons some other time as well, I don't mind doing that.

Anyway, Rean will wait patiently for Iago to get himself righted, and once he's ready, he'll start walking, jacket over his shoulder. ]

Alright. Then please bear with me, it won't take all that long.

When they walk in, Rean considered making Pizza because he was absolutely amazing at it, but also.
Maybe not. So he put away the dough and got started on making some hamburgers instead. He's definitely willing to have the other watch what he's making as usual. ]
I think this is the first time I made this here, though I had made something similar last meeting, even if that recipe wasn't originally mine.

You always do go out of your way to prepare food for everyone. I hope you don't take it as an insult that I don't eat at the meetings.
[By now Rean presumably gets why. He's not exactly sorry, but it's nothing against Rean or his cooking.]

It may be best not to prepare something this week. If the Lady is right and we really are approaching the end, then we don't need to give anyone any more opportunities to kill.
[It's an unpleasant topic, sure, but Rean's proven he can handle facing this sort of thing head-on and be fine, so Iago sees no reason to dance around it any.]

I'm not anticipating the Lady to make it easy to stop murder with us nearing the end, but it's better than no precautions.
