WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.
But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.
[[Welcome to Week 5! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 5 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Sigh. He’s going to try and spend the day attempting to keep his mind off it, but he may not be particularly successful. He had wanted to figure out the arcade, at the very least, so now that he sees it’s been fixed up, he’s going to go in and try some of the games out. He’s not really sure if he’s into them or if it’s just the novelty of something he’s unfamiliar with, but, well, figuring out how to beat the crap out of the other punchmans in Not Street Fighter isn’t a bad form of stress relief, even if he isn’t terribly good at it yet.
Eventually, though, he gets kind of frustrated with losing and heads to the church, where he figures he should try to pray for some sort of intervention, or at least for some form of comfort. But that eventually frustrates him too, as he finds himself staring at the depictions of good ol’ Jesus Christ and sighing.]
...are you even in a position to listen, I wonder? Either of you.
[fuck it, at least the aquarium’s nice, he’ll try to relax there. You know where you’re at with fish. No wonder Flayn likes them so much.
...goddess, he misses her every day, but now, the worry is even more evident on his face as he stares at the fish. Byleth is a competent leader and he trusts her, but... how would things change if this all got out?
Siiiiiigh.]
church;
Jesus is actually mentioned in Trails world, so he at least recognizes the one]...It would be nice, wouldn't it? If they were able to talk back, or give some indication they were listening.

[He ponders continuing, but...]
...
That is the thing about faith, though, is it not? You have to simply trust that they do.
no subject
It seems that's really the one constant between all faiths. Though, I also think that kind of thinking also helps to have when you're pushing forward relentlessly in a difficult situation.
[ To have that trust that you're able to get done what must be done. To never give up when all was seemingly lost, and the skies had darkened pitch black with darkness. To keep moving forward, no matter what. ]

[...]
I just hope everyone at home stays safe in the coming days. I do not want to give the Lady her satisfaction, and I am not even sure if she is capable of delivering on her threat, but...
no subject
[ And he's really glad, honestly. That Seteh would. ]
...I understand. It's still something that she's never done before, and I have my doubts myself that she could extend her reach in telling so many people secrets of others across a multiple of worlds. So at the least, I think there's comfort in that.
Even if it's still something to worry about. I know you have got your situation back home, and someone among us might consider acting anyway.

[worry worry worry worry worry...]
...I suppose whatever happens will happen, and we will simply have to deal with them as it does.
no subject
[ Oh Seteth...he'll try to give the other a light reassuring pat on the shoulder. ]
But yes, that's true.
...Still, whatever comes, I'm sure we'll be able to end up facing it like we've always have. So let's do our best to make sure the Lady isn't the one who's victorious in the end.
no subject
...but yes. That's the most important thing. I cannot imagine that if we fail, she will just stop at us.
no subject
[ ...Really, he did. ]
Speaking of stopping her...I wonder when we're able to do that, what we could even do with her? I don't think she'll be easy to keep locked up, but considering her ability, it doesn't seem like the alternative will make it easier.
[ He didn't want her to like. Hop bodies? That'd just suck. ]
no subject
[it's half in jest, but honestly, he would almost not be surprised if that was the solution....]
no subject
[ He practically lights up at that, though it shifted to something less enthusiastic because he didn't want to count his chickens before they hatched. ]
If there's a method to do that, that'd be the perfect way to deal with her. Seriously, nice thinking Seteth.

arcade
At least we're meeting here under better circumstances this time.
[ His eyes kind of linger for a moment on the spot where Alfyn's body was, actually.
...Well, anyway. ]
They don't have any games like this where you're from, I assume.
no subject
[hm, okay, block, but how does he do the uppercut...]
We have nothing like this where I am from. I had been curious about it before the events of the weekend, so I am pleased to see it was restored to its original state.
...It's getting a bit difficult to avoid places where there hasn't been a murder, so...
[...sigh.]
no subject
[ Going to watch over his shoulder... ]
Not sure if it applies here, but I think a lot of these types of games have special moves that require you to quickly press a specific sequence of buttons.
[ Hexentia XXO ]
no subject
[...oh, how did it go...]
The screen where I picked my character did have button combinations, but I keep having difficulty remembering them...
no subject
[ Actually, as long as he is here behind his shoulder... and since I'm not sure what Seteth is wearing right now...]
When you get to a stopping point [ i.e. when you inevitably get a game over in the very near future ] do you mind letting me do a quick follow-up check on our little experiment? No breaking or anything, of course.
no subject
[...he's starting to lose pretty badly, though...]
And no, that's fine. I haven't noticed any changes myself, though an examination on your end would likely be far more fruitful.
[You know, since he can get a better look at them and all.]
no subject
[ Maybe if the symbol on the button was actually a leg or something, but. ]
Excellent, thank you.
[ He will wait politely for you to finish gaming and take your shirt off. ]
no subject
[...aw, shit, N. Buffalo kicked his ass. oh well.]
...and real combat really is easier than all this nonsense, but. Anyway. Just a moment.
[he takes his shirt off in the arcade, as you do.]
no subject
[ All right, let's see what we've got now... thankfully we're far enough back in time that probably no one will walk in on this scene to see Rideaux feeling up a shirtless dilf in an arcade. ]
Interesting. I assume you could tell for yourself that the broken one had regenerated.
[ Since it would have kept getting extra-snagged on stuff otherwise, presumably. ]
no subject
Yes, I could. It does beg the question of whether there is a way to get rid of these or if they are permanent, though I suppose I should be prepared to deal with the latter.
no subject
[ "Prepare for the worst and don't bother hoping for the best" has come to be one of his philosophies. ]
The others we marked before don't appear to have grown at all. So it seems there's something of a set size they're supposed to be, which they won't grow beyond and to which they'll regenerate back when broken, apparently fairly quickly.
