WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.
But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.
[[Welcome to Week 5! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 5 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]
MOTIVE
You all have been so helpful, one way or another. Can you believe it has been more than a month since this started? Time goes fast! But don't get cocky. I'm not making things easier for you just because this is the fifth time we're doing this. Let's keep doing our best, alright? If you all cooperate, we will be done sooner instead of later. [The Lady's grin disappears while Rembrandt approaches with a stack of envelopes] But I know what some of you are thinking. You want to not cooperate, even though I'm not asking for anything that hasn't happened yet. That's not fine, darlings, so let me tell you something:
If you dare getting in the way of my goals, I'll put an obstacle in yours. Case in point: these. [Rembrandt descends to the plaza and starts giving everyone an envelope] Inside you'll see a juicy tidbit I found out about each one of you. Let's not talk about how I got them, that's not relevant. What's relevant here is that, if nobody is dead before 72 hours pass, I will reveal this secret to "the right people" in your world. I'm sure you know what I mean.
[And indeed, each envelope has a secret that's troublesome or very important to each person. Some of them even have a description of the proof and evidence the Lady can use too, to prove it's not mere slander. Everything is...remarkably detailed]
...I may as well reveal these publicly right here and then once the deadline is over, too. The look of surprise and horror, no matter how brief it is, is enough to make some relationships here start to fray. Oh, the power of words is something you shouldn't understimate.
The end is approaching. Let's make one more push to ensure success, shall we?
[And with that, the Lady left]

You can tell that old bastard whatever you want -- he already knows everything that has happened and will happen. Too bad fer you my enemy is already omniscient. You suck at this.
no subject
Ah.
Ah. ]
.... so that confirms it. I suppose I should be grateful.
[ The Lady isn't even here anymore, so he's just kind of talking to himself on this. Time to pocket that envelope. ]
no subject
honestly, no one here will be surprised by this. he has doubts still that she can affect his world at all. in theory this is fine.
in practice, it's pissing him off, but we can't have everything.]
no subject
...Well, that's fine. He puts it away in his pocket, but doesn't look any more bothered than he did before. ]
no subject
...
Probably a little of column A, a little of column B? He's just going to turn away, muttering...]
...I know she has no care for anyone's life but hers, but the war is bad enough as it is...
no subject
That bad, huh?
no subject
[fucking hell!!!]
no subject
[ He'll stick around. ]
no subject
[...SIGH, yeah.]
Perhaps not here.
no subject
Lead the way.
[ Stuffing his hands in the pocket. They can go some where else to talk for a bit ]

[...and even as he starts over to the aquarium he feels himself getting kind of cold feet about the whole thing, but he probably should be forward about it. Maybe if someone actually knows it will keep him from doing something rash.
So, aquarium. He’ll just sit down in front of one of the tanks so he has fish to look at and wait for Dazai to do the same.]
no subject
He'll tag along, not bothering to fill in the silence this time until they arrive at the aquarium. His gaze drifts to the tank he tried swimming in before for a moment. ]
Looks like they are still doing fine.
[ He'll sit down next to Seteth and lean back. ]
no subject
But... goddess, where does he even begin here. Maybe he can stall for time a bit.]
They are, and I am glad to see it. It’s always nice to be able to look at them.
no subject
Maybe they will appreciate a toy from the arcade?
[ Maybe there's wind up water toys there ]
no subject
[...sigh.]
I would imagine that would be more enjoyable than banging on the glass, anyway.
no subject
[ maybe they will appreciate a water bottle in there ]
We can keep chatting about the fish or we can get to the point.
no subject
[...sigh. okay. welp.]
...like I said, it is... a very long story, and one in which I would accept that I am not entirely innocent. I know I told Rean, but I am not entirely sure if I've made it clear to anyone else that there is a war going on back home.
no subject
[ War or fighting seems to be the popular theme with those brought here ]

[...]
...there used to be many of our kind in my homeland, you know. We were not as common as humans, of course, but... certainly, there were more than just five of us.
[six? Byleth is kind of a weird case...]

[ Besides from Lady wanting some Dilf action ]

There are still traces of what happened left. Many families have hereditary powers that came from their ancestors consuming our blood, and there are legendary weapons made from our bones. But the truth of their origins are kept secret to protect the few of us that remain.
[so, like, shin's everything was particularly fucked up!!!]

Knowing would mean people would want to kill you and your daughter.
[ So he gets it. ]
It would also mean they would try to find what remains of your people.

He's not going to linger after the Lady is done talking either. As soon as she is done, he's gone.]
