WEEK 5

WEEK 5

Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.

But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.

[[Welcome to Week 5! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 5 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

They do! Some of it is rather bizarre, I will admit, but I very much like these paintings of flowers and foliage.

[...]

You don't sound entirely convinced though, Rean. Something on your mind?

Oh, uh...the backgrounds. They're very captivating too.

[ While that's true, there was a lot on his mind judging by his distracted response. But honestly? He kept thinking of a certain place back on his world when he looked at some of the paintings, where were bound to be some of this place. Probably. ]

...Kind of. Even though this place isn't anywhere back on my world, I'm reminds me of Legram a little from time to time.

[Well, he's always curious to learn about other people's worlds, so...]

A favorite location of yours, I'm guessing...?

Kind of. It's the home of a friend back home—Laura's, to be exact.

It was a beautiful place that always felt like it had some mystical feel to it, and there's this heavy fog that usually swamps the whole area almost all the time.

[ So yeah, it did remind him a little of Krakow. ]

Sounds rather gloomy if you ask me.

[No one asked you, Dist.]

But these paintings do alleviate the gloom with how the foliage stands out against it...so I do see how there would be beauty to be found there.

[ Wow no one certainly did, though he's also not wrong...! ]

Yeah. They did a real good job showing that, but when you see that up in person, it's really more obvious then.

That and unlike Krakow, Legram's on the water.

I see. That would certainly fuel the fog.

[Unlike Krakow. The fog is just...really weird here.]

But yes, sometimes a painting simply does not do the actual location justice. I often feel that way in regard to paintings of my own home.

Haha, yeah. I think it might also be affected by the castle nearby and it's strange presence, but it's definitely different from Krakow's.

[ It really was. Though... ]

...What is your home like, Dist? I don't think you've mentioned it before.
