WEEK 5
WEEK 5
Was what happened on Friday yet another tragedy in a string of them or just a complete shitshow? Well, regardless of which line of thought you subscribe to, the reality of it is that another three of your number are no longer in this realm with you. At least the remains of what had happened last week have been neatly cleaned up as always, even if that might not change what’s been etched in your memories. The drum set in the jazz bar remains busted though, because the masterminds aren't that generous. At least the tarot shop and boutique remain fine even if the vanished crystals and women's clothing aren't going to be restocked.
But either way, it’s a new week, and that means new locations to explore as the fog gives way to more of the city and its lamplit streets. The new moon waxes to half this week, appearing as a crescent moon for most of the week. It's far from optimistic, but maybe the brightening is a sign that this will be over soon...? Or maybe it just means the worst is yet to come, it's hard to say.
[[Welcome to Week 5! Note that new areas have been added, and can be found under the Week 5 tab on our Locations page. Once again, feel free to make top levels at your discretion, and remember to note it in your header if you plan on investigating any locations. You can also privately contact The Lady or Rembrandt.]]

Before getting to work, Dist takes the time to check out the art museum as well. A connoisseur of beauty, he loves observing art pieces. Though...a lot of these are beyond even him. Still, he is very taken by installations that use machines and metal components. He muses aloud to anyone checking the place out with him.]
I prefer my art to also be functional, but this is lovely nevertheless.
[Anything with roses and other beautiful flowers also catch his attention, for obvious reasons.
As enjoyable as observing art is, eventually he gets distracted by thoughts of working in the autoshop and can't deal with it anymore. He makes a stop at the clergy housing for a change of clothes and a fuckton of candles for lighting, and returns to the autoshop for the rest of the day to set up shop and basically...claim the place for himself. Sorry guys, hopefully you snuck out your tools of choice already because you're going to have to go through Dist to take anything now.
Not that he can't be easily bullied into giving stuff up.He can be found fussing with some scrap and wiring at one of the desks, occasionally studying a red flip phone that sits nearby. Looks like he already has a project.]
autoshop
Looks like you found your own little paradise here.

A well-deserved one if I do say so myself. It is so relieving to get to do what I love again, and forget about this situation if only for a while.

There's some files in the top drawer of the filing cabinet. They talk about the inner workings of some of the engines here.

...also Dazai no, don't break the windshield...]
Are there? Well that is certainly good to know! We do have large machines built to traverse land in Auldrant, but certainly not ones as small as these. I am very curious about them.
no subject
It's a sturdy windshield that he's not kicking. It'll be fine. ]
There's some files missing, but we can guess who took those.
[ Dist can probably ask for those back ]

[It's not sarcastic, though the more avant garde stuff is still a bit baffling to Seteth...]
I will say it is somewhat beyond me, though. I wonder how this sort of thing even got started as an artistic concept.
no subject
[He thoughtfully taps his chin.]
But I imagine it may have had something to do with the time period that the concept was created. Quite a bit of art that you find in galleries has some kind of message, whether it be political or a general reflection on current events. But that is simply my hunch- I am an artist in an entirely different field.

[Ah yes, religious institutions...not really his strong suit, despite working for the Church's military faction.]

[ Rean’s attention was also captured by the flowers...though backgrounds a little moreso. ]

[...]
You don't sound entirely convinced though, Rean. Something on your mind?
no subject
[ While that's true, there was a lot on his mind judging by his distracted response. But honestly? He kept thinking of a certain place back on his world when he looked at some of the paintings, where were bound to be some of this place. Probably. ]
...Kind of. Even though this place isn't anywhere back on my world, I'm reminds me of Legram a little from time to time.
no subject
A favorite location of yours, I'm guessing...?
no subject
It was a beautiful place that always felt like it had some mystical feel to it, and there's this heavy fog that usually swamps the whole area almost all the time.
[ So yeah, it did remind him a little of Krakow. ]

He's in a partially good mood, then, when he spots Dist. ]
I'm guessing you're in your element here.

Dist initially nods in response after giving Shiro a casual wave of greeting, then returns his gaze to the little contraption he's currently working on.]
Very much so. The boutique was a nice reprieve last week, but finally being able to focus on a project has truly taken my mind off of our situation, if only for a limited time.
[It sure has helped lower his stress levels, that's for sure.]
So what brings you here, Shiro? Simply having a look around?
no subject
[ He's very curious about what Dist is working on, but he's also far more interested on what he can do hinself here. ]
It started out as investigating the new areas, but now I'm actually interested in this place. Back home, I used to do some engineering work.
no subject
Really. Do tell.
no subject
[ He runs a hand along one of the cars. ]
... That, and I just liked working on vehicles. And racing them.

It looks as though you're already hard at work. I do hope you don't mind if I watch for a little while.

He turns to Iago with a grin, happy to have the company.]
I am, and I don't mind at all. I did say that I would like to teach you a bit about engineering if we came across an opportunity.
[Now they have one!]
I am actually working on something for Rideaux right now. [He motions to the red phone.] He needs something to charge this device of his.
no subject
I still am very interested in learning, but that can wait until you're done with your project.
[He studies the phone curiously, but doesn't reach out to touch it. It's pretty damn obvious he has no idea what it is and maybe he would want to get a closer look if it belonged to anyone else.]
Well, he's certainly left it in capable hands. I'm sure you'll figure something out in no time.
no subject
[He picks up the phone and flips it open for Iago to take a closer look. It's not powered on at the moment though, because Rideaux would probably shank him for wasting precious battery when he's not actively testing it for a charge.]
It really is a fascinating piece of technology- something that is not at all present in my world. But what Rideaux asked of me should be simple enough, even if I am not entirely familiar with the finer details.
[Because Rideaux would probably kill him if he went to take it apart. The possibilities just keep escalating in violence.]
