Well that sure happened
[Ango truthfully isn't much of a cook, relying mostly on takeout food to keep himself fed. But takeout isn't an option here, and after that...colorful trial, he doesn't have it in him to trust food that he isn't preparing himself.
It's not bad, really. Just rather plain. There is also a noticeable lack of meat among everything he's prepared too. And it all goes well with the liquid diet he's supplying, courtesy of the jazz bar. Plenty of booze bottles and glasses can be found for your drinking needs. He's sure he's not the only one who wants to forget that whole cursed trial.]
Food and drinks are in the opera house. Be sure to drink responsibly.

[There are also no decorations, beyond the mess left behind from earlier.]

Your demonstration of your power was helpful. I'd say it was integral to solving the case, even.

He turns towards her, and he's not quite drunk enough that he's swaying in place, but it's a near thing.]
Ah...It was the least I could do. If doing something so simple was enough...That's fine.

Why the long face, then?
[ she has a feeling she knows why, but she's going to pry anyway. ]

He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.]
One has to wonder how long this is going to go on.

It's hard to say. We're getting closer to the truth, but I don't know how much that's going to help us. Though...
[ she shakes her head. ]
This is now a matter of beating The Lady at her own game.
no subject
I find it hard to believe the truth will help us at all.
[Is he really that pessimistic, or is it the alcohol.]
Do you think we can manage that?
no subject
[ she really doesn't. ]
The Lady is very careful about how she distributes her information and I don't think that's going to change anytime soon. But now we know what she's hoping to use us for. [ braaaaaaains. ]
Unfortunately we're here with a bunch of murder-happy idiots. They're just giving her what she wants, and I don't think they care.

[And he does!!]
They only care about what they can get out of it, it seems. [Sighs.] They've done a very good job of figuring out what people will kill for, I'll say that much.

[ shin, you crazy motherfucker. ]
I was under the impression that they knew too much about our worlds, our homes; but they don't know everything like I thought they did.
They just need to know what benefits them. What makes us tick, what we're good for and how they can use those from our homes in the same manner.

They know enough, and that's dangerous. They can play us like a fiddle, and I'm not sure all of us will be able to resist them.

[ she's reiterating that, because there are still people here who can and will. she's not usually an optimist, but at this point? she feels like whoever's left standing in a few weeks will come together and confront the lady and rembrandt once and for all.
whether or not she'll be part of that is still up in the air. but she's confident she won't give into any of these motives. they're just bluffs, in the end.
probably. ]

I suppose you must be right.
[And he believes in that conviction. He knows himself, and knows he doesn't want to senselessly take somebody's life as part of this sick game...and surely he must not be the only one like that.]
no subject
[ the question is...will the people left standing have the knowledge needed to overcome all of this? she supposes they'll just have to find out.
if she's around to see it. ]
I'm sure your friend on your profile would be disappointed if you succumbed to temptation.
[ noctis. whoever that is. ]
no subject
I'm sure he would be. I...To tell the truth, I was...tempted. To keep him safe.
[A sigh.]
But he wouldn't want anyone to die for his sake.

[ a beat. ]
I have yet to see any concrete evidence that proves that The Lady and Rembrandt will make good on their promises.

Which is probably why they feel comfortable offering such extravagant things in the first place.
