Well that sure happened

[Ango truthfully isn't much of a cook, relying mostly on takeout food to keep himself fed. But takeout isn't an option here, and after that...colorful trial, he doesn't have it in him to trust food that he isn't preparing himself.

It's not bad, really. Just rather plain. There is also a noticeable lack of meat among everything he's prepared too. And it all goes well with the liquid diet he's supplying, courtesy of the jazz bar. Plenty of booze bottles and glasses can be found for your drinking needs. He's sure he's not the only one who wants to forget that whole cursed trial.

Food and drinks are in the opera house. Be sure to drink responsibly.

[There are also no decorations, beyond the mess left behind from earlier.]

[WE ARE ALL JESUS IN PURGATORY only we're all entirely too shitty for that, it's fine.]

I'd imagine so. We have some concept of the afterlife where I'm from, at least, but I couldn't tell you if they're anything more than stories.

Hehehe. Then I suppose it's a good idea to live as if that's all, isn't it? What are those stories like, though? Just for comparison.
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

In the broadest sense, we believe in hell as a place of torment where sinners go. There's some sort of paradise if you live your life well. Those that perform ultimate good acts such as saving the world live on as stars to watch over the world. There's no proof that any of it exists, and they're likely just stories to get children to behave. Or to explain the stars, I suppose.

Heh... eternal paradise. I think a lot of humans think the same thing, in my world. But really, Soul Society kind of sucks. But not as much as Hell.

...That's a bit depressing, isn't it? That you just have something terrible, and something that's somewhat less so?

Maybe it's better that most people don't know the truth. But it doesn't need to be anything fancy... both Hell and Soul Society are just ways ta scrub souls for the next life.
