finer food, but no music

[Well that was...unpleasant, to say the least. Two more deaths, but this time there's the matter of whatever's happening to Seteth as well.

Ignis is trying not to think about it, which means he's thinking about it a lot, which means he spends a few moments pacing and trying to figure out what to do. He thinks back to the party - for as much as you could call it that - that Olivert hosted, and, well... He's not sure how much morale can be boosted, but it's worth a shot, isn't it?

The decorations of the opera house are much simpler this time around, but the food is noticeably better, between the actual operational kitchen and the fact Ignis is much more skilled than Olivert. The food is well made and it even looks delicious from where it's set up, and there's a sign outside the opera house that reads:]

A not as grand feast, for all of us to enjoy.
Attendance is not mandatory, but it might be better than staying alone.

Catered by Ignis Scientia.

[At least there are less rose petals this time.]
drydrown: those plates are totally relevant and useful (CAST ♡ mimura said what now)

I don't know what good complaining about all of this is supposed to do, anyway. We'll either get past this or we won't, and those that don't are going to die.

[ He'll grimace. It's a blunt way to put it, but he supposed that it's not wrong. If someone couldn't get past this situation, they'll likely reach the end of their life. ]

Well, in my experience, talking it out with someone might lead to something insightful... or even just make it easier to recover, and then bounce back into facing the situation.

Though, I know it doesn't work like that for everyone.

[He just kind of stares at that, really.]

Do I look like I've ever...

[He stops himself, though. Thinks about it. Starts over.]

I usually have my unit to focus on. They talk to me about issues. Not the other way around. And I'm not in the practice of keeping friends.

[ He looked like he was considering something, and maybe it was because of who he was that he did in the first place. ]

Did you want to...start doing that? Maybe?

I mean, you don't have to, but I figure there's no harm in offering.

[ And he'd completely understand why the other wouldn't want to. Their situation wasn't ideal, but still, here he was. ]
drydrown: those shoes with that dress though (EHHH ♡ now wait just a minute)

What, with you?

[ ...he'll look sheepish. ]

If you want? Or it could be with someone else, if you'd like. I'm not about to force something like this on someone if they don't want to.

[He's quiet for a long time at that; not really doing anything in particular, just mulling it over.]

I don't consider anyone my equal. Isn't that required for something like that?

[ He'll consider this...guy's got a point. If the friendship was to be a healthy sort, anyway.

Though... ]

Personally, yes, I think it is. But, even though you don't consider someone your equal right now, that could change. Only if you want it to, though.
drydrown: the magna carta's a nice suggestion (HAUGHTY ♡ judging like john marshall)

[It's a good self-awareness day, at least, given that he was able to point that out. It's a Christmas miracle.]

I can't really say it's anything I think about, simply because that isn't how things work.

[He can't precisely say he likes it, either. Hhhhhhh.]

...I'll keep it in mind, however. It may prove worth the consideration.
