Sometime during the late hours of the night, the clouds rolled in with their load and let loose upon the unsuspecting streets down below. It's the end of another week in Krakow, another week in this unending night and another week where The Lady's motive lay in wait. As the bell tolls seven, the rain continues to soak the city below as fog crowds the air, although it's not nearly as suffocating as the kind found blanketing a large portion of the city.

[ all right CHECKING THE CANDLES THEN...

How far are they burned down? Is there anything on them? Do they have any specific scent? ]

[They're burnt... somewhat far down? It's enough to notice that there was some wax pooled at the base but it's not like it's been entirely melted down. At the very least, it was probably lit for a decent amount of time. The candles have a slightly fishy smell coming from it, which is less because they're scented and more because it's also slightly damp.

If he reeeeally takes a sniff of the candle itself, it'll be apparent they're the unscented kind!]

[ Okay first off how many candles are there, exactly? Is there any kind of candle holder somewhere around here?

If not, how big are these candles and how easy would it be to hold all of them at once... ]

[There are three of them and yeah, they're in candle holders like this, we're not heathens here, don't worry Rideaux.

He could probably hold one in each hand and like... jam the last one between his hands maybe? They're not huge though.]

And they're all like, equally burned down? Is there a used match or anything around here? Were they just dropped or dumped here haphazardly, or were they actually set down? ]

[They're burnt down fairly equally, there isn't like a huge difference between them at least. The candles were definitely set down though, they weren't lying on their side or anything.

If Rideaux wants to comb around on the floor for used matches, he will find them! They kind of got pushed around by all the waterworks going around here but they are around and soaked and fishy smelling.]

[ And these candles are where, exactly? Like, which side of the tank/how far apart are they spaced? ]

[Using this diagram as a reference, the candles are more to the bottom left corner of the pic, near the tank. Basically they're not on the same side as the holes on the wall.

The candles are only a foot away from each other at most, all pretty close to the tank itself. That said, it's not like they were spread out super evenly either?]

[Just in case, Suzaku's going to check to see if Rideaux needs any help in this area. These candles are almost too innocuous-seeming given everything that happened here. He'll check to see if there's anything else around them, or anything beneath the tank.]

[Seeing stuff in this darkness is not easy. It may be a minor miracle that Suzaku is checking these candles and the area beneath the tank. If he hadn't done that, he wouldn't have seen the notebook lying there beneath the tank.

The notebook looks just a little bit wet, but mostly undamaged. Which is rather lucky, given its proximity to big water containers and what not. Take a look inside the notebook?]

[oh wow, a notebook... that definitely seems like it would be more illuminating than these candles in their current state. Heck yeah he'll look inside, with a little self-glow to help.]
