INVESTIGATION 2

Sometime during the late hours of the night, the clouds rolled in with their load and let loose upon the unsuspecting streets down below. It's the end of another week in Krakow, another week in this unending night and another week where The Lady's motive lay in wait. As the bell tolls seven, the rain continues to soak the city below as fog crowds the air, although it's not nearly as suffocating as the kind found blanketing a large portion of the city.

Are you awake this fine morning? And if you are, just where are you hanging around today?

[Well, he was already headed this way after checking out the church aaaaaand apparently Lysithea's dead in the aquarium and he's not going anywhere near whatever mess is in there, so!! Let's check around out here - is there anything immediately noticeable that's off?]

[ Yeah, Iago has made a smart call. Nothing is immediately off about the museum exterior, gonna take a tour of the perimeter? ]

[Of course! He's looking for anything off - he's spent entirely too much time in this damn place so he can probably recognize anything that sticks out. Anything off anywhere around the building?]

[ Not so much off but peculiar at least—one of the windows on the ground floor is open. Not the best idea to leave a window open like that, especially when it's raining. ]

[Hmm!! That's definitely weird! How far off the ground is this window - is it something that most of us could reach or is it something that could have only been opened from inside the museum? Also where exactly in the museum does this correspond to, somewhere in the aquarium?]

[ The window is roughly 3 feet off from the ground, it's a vertical window that only opens from the inside, can't encourage thieves to steal the T-rex inside for ice skating lessons or anything.

As for the relation to the general museum layout, this window is on the same side of the building as the Aquarium. ]

[Very fair! Though if they managed to smuggle the t-rex out through the window, I'd be impressed.

Okay, so looking inside, what can he see? Is it the. the mess. the everything y'all are dealing with over there with Lysithea's body and the chunks and the broken glass thanks, Raven.]

[ So would this mod, but hey where there's a will there's a way...??

Looking inside he can see the aquarium and the whole hullabaloo there in the distance. So while the window isn't in the aquarium proper, it's still decently close by. ]

[Gods. You guys have fun in there dealing with the. that. all of that. Anyway!! How are the window and windowframe doing - any signs of anything off with either? How about the inside of them if he leans in to check those out?]

[ The window and windowframe are doing fine, albeit wet considering the conditions. Peeking inside reveals that the floor inside is wet too, and he can probably even smell the everything that is happening over there faintly from here. ]

[Gross!! But hmm... Is there any sort of trail or is it just generally wet, presumably because of the rain? Anything else to note about the inside here?]

[ Gross indeed.

And there does seem to be a trail that's coming from inside the museum. He'd need to hop over to make sure, but it's not the puddle you would expect from just an open window. ]

[ugh!!!! he's a sorcerer, not a ninja!!!! but anyway, in he goes to check it out just to make sure.

Okay, so he's assuming that this leads from the crime scene over to here and then out the window, is that about right? Is there anything noteworthy about the lock on the window?

If that's it, he'll climb back out (why did he wear his robes today!!!) and maybe go check out what Sirius was examining before.]

And yes, the trail leads from the crime scene over to the window. The lock is a pretty simple one and there's nothing to note about it. Ninja excursions over, he'll find that the flattened grass lines up directly outside the window. ]

Okay, let's get a better look at this! So you said the grass looks flattened, is there anything else off about it? Aside from the skid mark, of course.]

[ Unfortunately it's just.. flattened grass with the aforementioned skid mark. ]

[On to the skid mark, then! What does it look like and how long is it? Is there a specific direction other than "away from the museum"?]

[ The direction is indeed away from the museum; it's a bit shorter than a foot long, and oblong in shape. ]

[Anything else to note about it? Is there any indication of what could have caused it?]

[ Unfortunately no. But it is clearly just a skid mark and not something distinct like tire track or what have you. ]

[Good to know! Not that he'd recognize a tire track to begin with but listen it's fine.

Anyway, anything else to note about the area around out here? Around the museum in general, but he'll also go wandering off to see if there's any indication of which direction the murderer could've gone.]

[Can he try to deduce how long the window's been open by how wet the room inside is?]

[ Since Sirius is ridiculously tall it's something he could easily discern from leaning over, but as he approaches the window to do so, he might spot that the grass here looks disturbed. ]

[He'll kneel down to take a closer look then. More digging, or something else?]

[Not digging, more like the patch of grass right in front of the window looks flattened, with a skid mark extending out from it.]
