The clock strikes eight. The intermittent showers that dominated most of yesterday had, at some point during the night, escalated to a complete downpour that drenched the streets. Maybe that's why the morning might almost feel refreshing today—while it can't be said that the birds are chirping and the sun is shining brightly, the breeze is cool without being frigid while the sky is bright with the half moon.

Nevertheless. The deadline for Tuesday's motive was laid down as Friday, and amongst the pleasant earthy smell of the rain may be a tinge of something else.

Well now, how shall you spend this morning?

[Dazai found drops of dry mud. A quick glance between the footprints and those will reveal they have the same color and dryness.

Ergo, it's mud!

They're leading towards that staircase that gives access to the higher floors, and originate right from the entrance door.]

[Well, first of all, most of the items just seem to be knives and stationery, like pens and paper. There's like, a shitload of knives?? Think around 12 of them or so and about 4 pens.

Second of all, Mikami can note that there's no real rhyme or reason to how the items are scattered around the body; they're just sort of there, like someone decided to make an Elliot pancake and then add some sprinkles of knives or something (although none of the items are on top of his body).

Third, Elliot still kind of has a bookbag slung around his shoulder and it's definitely open, with some paper kind of spilling out of it.]

[Okay yeah Suzaku knows fuck all about investigating a murder so he's going to hobble his way down to the opera house to get the pamphlet. He is still very indignant about the entire affair, but while he's here, might as well look around...]

[ He can go back to the foot prints. Real quick... how are they compared to Raven's feet? Are they bigger or smaller? What about Elliot? Do they look like they belong to him? ]

[Just for some body context, Elliot's lying face down on his stomach with his right arm under his chest and his left just... sort of flung out there.

What part is Shin going to be getting a closer look at?]

[ The storage room is a pretty decent area to start, and in fact it seems like something is missing from here, would your masterminds really leave with you so few buckets?

...they might, but there's less than before. How familiar is Dist with this room? ]

Setheth is able to make his way back to housing to scream all he wants and do his best impression without anything else terribly horrendous jumping out at him. Whether that means the entirety of the clergy housing is innocent is another mystery however. ]

[ Welcome to the opera house, and subsequently the opera house backstage! First thing's first: how familiar is Suzaku with this area, and did he bring a light? ]

He carefully moves the bookbag off the body and sets it to the side for Mikami to check out... Just in case that bag was hiding anything under it.

Which means he's gonna look closer at the torso. ]

[THAT’S IT THAT’S HIM. Alright. He’ll go and check the bathroom closest to his room after he’s done with that.]

Raven, who apparently felt generous enough to pause and let Dazai compare those to her feet, has feet that are slightly larger than these. Elliot's are even larger.]

Is there anything noticeable about them? Is there a limp to them? Do they appear to be running or just talking their time? Is it just these set of prints heading up? ]

[Actually, it doesn't! The footprints fade some distance into the clock tower, less and less mud formed them, degrading with every step until there just aren't any footprints anymore.

The last few ones that are enough to tell a direction are pointing at the staircase, though]

[ perfect. raven's going to go up the staircase and look around at the next floor. anything immediately out of place here? ]

[Not at all. He's been keeping off his foot and only came to the opera house before long enough to review the profiles, not investigate every suspicious-looking nook and cranny. Today is different, though - and he did not, but fortunately he is the light.]

[ ... literally why so many knives. Mikami is going to give a cursory glance to those first. Are any of the knifes dirty or bent or damaged in any way? ]

He didn't write up an inventory or anything, but he's decently familiar with it. He spent some time poking around for tools on the first day or so. Is there anything else amiss?]

[If Shin's rolling the body over to see the torso, there's a couple things he might note. First off, is that the body is pretty stiff, so he might not have an easy time of it. Second, as he turns Elliot over, it's going to be obvious that there's some blood underneath the body, mostly centred around the head although some of it would have seeped into the clothing and is smeared on his face.

Third, beyond his shirt and nice sherpa jacket having some blood around the collar area, there's nothing immediately obvious about his torso although from the whole moving his body thing it's also pretty obvious that Elliot's neck is kind of bent oddly and not really in a comfortable position.]
